Nowadays, he serves as a successful dermatologist with a thriving practice but it didn’t start out that way for Tim Ioannides. So how did he accomplish everything he set out to do? Well, from a young age, he always knew he wanted to go into the medical profession but it wasn’t until matriculating at the University of Miami School of Medicine that he had the chance to study medicine. After receiving his MD, he was offered a residency opportunity at the university which he gladly accepted. Upon completion, he was offered a position in the private sector that helped him realize he wanted to open his own practice so he could give patients the special treatment and attention they deserve. The location has since expanded from one to five different offices.
He has made it his life’s mission to educate people about the five main types of skin disease from atopic dermatitis to psoriasis and eczema. He also promoted the sunshine vitamin as one of the most effective prevention and treatment methods for skin conditions but not everyone knows how you can tell whether or not they’re getting enough vitamin D. If you’re under the weather, feeling depressed or have wounds that heal slowly, that’s how you know you don’t have enough vitamin D. Your body can produce its own vitamin D but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not deficient. If you don’t get enough sun exposure, that’s one of the possible reasons why you don’t have enough.
Tim Ioannides currently serves as one of the members of the American Academy of Dermatology and has been certified by the ABA. Additionally, he teaches a few classes at the local university and has over 15 years of experience in the field of dermatology. He is currently residing in Port St. Lucie.
